About this course
IELTS decides more than most students expect. It is what a Hungarian, Russian or British university reads first, it is often what stands between a file being assessed and a file being set aside, and it is the one part of an application that is entirely within your control. This course covers all four papers, with the writing and speaking work done face to face, because those are the two nobody improves at by reading about them.
Who this course is for
Students applying to universities in the UK, Hungary, Russia or anywhere else that asks for English, and anyone who needs a band score for a visa or an employer.
What you can do after this course
- Know the format of all four papers and what the examiner is marking
- Write Task 1 and Task 2 to time, to structure, and to the band descriptors
- Speak for two minutes on an unseen topic without drying up
- Read fast enough to finish the reading paper
- Sit full mock tests under real timing before the real thing
What the course covers
- 01
Listening
Four recorded sections, the question types, and the traps in each.

Reading
Three passages against the clock — skimming, scanning and the question types that punish guessing.
- 03
Writing Task 1
Describing a chart, a process or a map; and the letter, for General Training.
- 04
Writing Task 2
The essay: structure, argument, and the vocabulary that moves a band.
- 05
Speaking
All three parts, practiced face to face and recorded.

Mock tests
Full papers under exam timing, marked and gone through with you.
The exam
IELTS has four papers: Listening (about thirty minutes), Reading (sixty minutes), Writing (sixty minutes) and Speaking (eleven to fourteen minutes, as a face-to-face interview). It is scored in bands from 0 to 9, and there are two versions — Academic, for university, and General Training. Which one you need depends on where you are applying; ask us and we will check it against your target before you book a test date.

Universities almost always want Academic. General Training is usually for migration and some work routes. Tell us where you are applying and we will confirm it before you book.
